About Layouts
Tuzulo layouts give you flexibility in choosing how large the images will be after uploading. We defer this choice until the uploads are finished so that you can re-use the collection repeatedly in different ways.
Choosing a Layout
Layouts are actually called variants in the Tuzulo system. They are related to a set of batched rule-sets which automatically transform your uploaded images to specific dimensions and quality levels.
Layouts come in five basic flavors:
Fixed image size layouts.
Fixed image size layouts with rounded corners.
Fixed aspect ratio image layouts.
Flash layouts with fixed size images.
Literal (as uploaded) but web-unfriendly file-types mapped to JPEG.
To choose a layout, use the variant selector pull-down menu on the /upload management page:

The /upload management page will reload with new codes. Preview will display the collection with the chosen layout.
Alternatively, use the layout selector directly in the Preview (/collection) page: new

The /collection page will reload with new images. This is more intuitive than pre-selecting the layout in the management page but only works if you own the collection. That's because /collection pages are public landing pages.
By default you don't have to choose a layout. However, the images generated will be small, such as 60x60 pixel square. If you want something bigger, pick a different layout.
Fixed Image Size Layouts
Sizes such as 60×60px square up to 640×480px, etc. are found here. Fixed image sizes mean the dimensions are constrained in both width and height and in order to do that cropping will occur. Fixed size layouts use either grids or stacks, depending on the width of the layout area.
Gravity has an effect on cropped images.
Fixed Image Size Layouts with Rounded Corners
These are the same as fixed image size layouts except the corners have been rounded off, which is a popular design style. Corner rounding assumes the background color is white.
Fixed Image Aspect Ratio Layouts
Fixed aspect ratio constrains the image's width to a specific "not to exceed" value, leaving the other dimension free to be resized according to the image's aspect ratio.
Keeping the aspect ratio constant is in many ways the most appropriate layout mechanism for some content especially when it can be guaranteed all images are of the same natural aspect ratio and full-view is desired.
Gravity has no effect on fixed aspect ratio images because no cropping occurs.
Flash Layouts
A flash layout is a fixed-size flash container application pulling fixed size images into a navigation framework constructed using Flash. This type of layout is useful when you want to keep the amount of area consumed by images fixed.
No Modification
Layouts derive new images, they don't change an existing images. You can choose as many layouts as you want and post (publish) as many times as you want.
