http://www.reefari.com Awesome fishing video with plenty of big fish on the Great Barrier reef. The Nannygai were red hot with Multiple hook-ups and plenty of fish, it was a good opportunity to send down the Sony Action camera and see what goes on down below. Some great video footage, and amazing how many Nannygai are down there. If you look closely, you'll even notice a cod and coral trout amongst the nannygai. Great video footage with a double hookup on smaller Nannygai straight away. Most fish were averaging around the 4 to 5 kilo mark, but maybe the Camera was putting the bigger fish off. The other surprising info in the video was how flat and featureless the bottom is in this area, yet it still held lot's of big fish. I've got more underwater fishing video to come shortly, so make sure you subscribe unless you already have.
Other good fish, was Phil's Monster cod, An awesome fish, Massive and was good to be able to release these big breeders, There not worth keeping at this size as very tough to eat, and they are the big breeders for future generations.
Ian did well and caught a big Bluespot coral trout. This would have to be one of my most favourite fish on the reef, they go hard, and are quick to reef you. Ian's did, but he was lucky and managed to pull the fish out of the coral. They have a maximum size limit of 85cm with this one going under at 83cm so into the esky. You don't catch these ones too often.
And to top it all off, we caught 4 Spanish mackerel to round off a great trip. We had a go at the GT's but none this trip unfortunately.
